Daniel Cooperrider is a writer, teacher, and pastor in the United Church of Christ (UCC). Daniel is Co-Pastor of Flicker Wild Church, a pop up outdoor gathering. Daniel was Pastor of the Weybridge Congregational Church (VT) and has served as Pastoral Resident at the Wellesley Village Church (MA). A graduate of the University of Chicago and the University of Chicago Divinity School, Daniel writes at the intersections of theology, environmental ethics, poetry, aesthetics, and climate justice. Daniel is the author of Speak with the Earth and It Will Teach You, and a study on the book of Job. A fly-fisher and forager, Daniel can often be found hiking, canoeing, wading, or otherwise navigating the landscape. Daniel lives on the edge of the driftless region in Madison, WI on ancestral Ho-Chunk land, and in Spooner, WI on Ojibwe land, with his spouse, the Rev. Dr. Julia Burkey, and their young wild one, Reverie Faye.
